Richard Merkin Middle School (RMMS) is a free public charter school developed and operated by the Alliance for College-Ready Public Schools and authorized by the Los Angeles Unified School District. The school, serving 6-8 graders, opened in September 2005 and is located near downtown Los Angeles.
Designed to prepare students to succeed in high school and continue on a path toward college, RMMS’s educational model focuses on five core values: high expectations for all students, small personalized schools and classrooms, increased instructional time, highly qualified principals and teachers, and parents as partners.
