As we launch our fifth year, we have a great deal to celebrate!

Richard Merkin Middle School is a thriving community of learners. Our students, parents, staff, and community partners work as a team, to provide the best possible learning environment for our students. As the first Alliance middle school, we are proud to be the RMMS Trailblazers!

Our goal is College-readiness for 100% of our students. We strive to be a model for exceptional teaching and learning, with the highest quality instruction delivered by a dedicated group of professional educators. When you enter our classrooms, you will see students who are motivated and actively engaged in their learning. Families work in tandem with school staff to ensure that every student is given the tools they need to exceed grade level standards, and achieve high levels of academic and personal success.

RMMS provides a nurturing and supportive learning environment that meets the unique needs of middle grade learners, both in and out of the classroom. Our partnerships with After School All Stars and LA Team Mentoring make it possible to keep our campus open daily until 6:00pm. These programs enrich students’ educational experience, allowing them to flourish in the areas of leadership, athletics, visual and performing arts, and community-service.

RMMS is now a permanent and important fixture within this community. In addition to The Alliance for College Ready Public Schools and Dr. Richard Merkin, we are fortunate to have ongoing support from a range of successful business and University partnerships. RMMS is a great place for young people to learn and grow. Our students will continue to make positive contributions as young leaders and throughout their lives.
